Description : Huaricoto is an archaeological site located in the north-central highlands of Peru , in the district of Marcará, province of Carhuaz, department of Áncash . Presents remains of a sanctuary or ceremonial center from the late archaic period , which lasts until the formative period , from 2800 to 200 BC. C. It is part of a tradition of temples with fireplaces that flourished in the north-central region of Peru, in times before Chavín de Huántar ( Myth Tradition ).
