Description : Kalabchah (in Arabic كلابشة , transliterated Kalabsha in English , Kalabscha in German ), whose ancient Greek name is Talmis , is a village in Nubia , Egypt , now submerged by the waters of Lake Nasser . This place was about 50 km south of Aswan , at an altitude of 195 meters. The site is known for its sacred area, the main element of which is the temple of Mandoulis, also known as the temple of Kalabchah, from Roman times, built by Augustus . After the construction of the Aswan High Dam from 1961 to 1963, the temple and some other monuments of Kalabchah were reconstructed on a new site higher up
